Two ways to fly private

Choose the flight that fits your plans

With EmptyJet, you can match your plans to an available empty leg or request a private jet charter built around your route, schedule and travel requirements.

Already scheduled

Empty Leg Flights

An empty leg is a private jet repositioning flight that is already scheduled. If its route and timing work for you, you can book that flight — often at a substantial discount to a comparable on-demand charter.

Best when your plans are flexible enough to match an available flight.

Built around your trip

Private Jet Charter

An on-demand charter starts with your trip. Set the route and schedule, choose the aircraft category you prefer, and add your passenger, baggage or other requirements.

Operators return suitable aircraft and prices for you to compare and choose from.

What the request does

Request a private jet charter with EmptyJet

The brief can be one way, round trip or multi-city. EmptyJet works with relevant charter operators in its network to confirm suitable options.

Operators confirm the aircraft, schedule, price and terms for your itinerary. You review the options before deciding which one to book. There is no commitment at the request stage.

Behind empty leg pricing

Why empty leg flights can cost less

Empty leg pricing starts with an operational reality: the aircraft already needs to move. That can create a private jet sector with a different cost structure from an on-demand charter — while its availability remains tied to the aircraft's wider schedule.

Repositioning creates the flight

A private jet may complete a charter in Nice and be required in Geneva for its next mission. The flight between those airports exists for operational reasons, whether or not another passenger books it.

When the operator makes that sector available, it becomes an empty leg opportunity.

A different pricing equation

Because the aircraft is already scheduled to reposition, the operator may offer the empty sector below the price of arranging a comparable on-demand charter.

The saving reflects the aircraft, route, timing and demand — and can allow the operator to recover part of a flight that would otherwise operate without charter passengers.

Availability follows the aircraft schedule

An empty leg is connected to the trips around it. Its route, departure window and aircraft are therefore less flexible than on an on-demand charter.

If the wider schedule changes, the empty leg can also change or become unavailable before operator confirmation.

Booking sequence

How booking an empty leg works

  1. Search a route

Enter the cities and dates. You will see empty legs that already fit that window, including nearby airports when a private airfield is more practical.

  2. Choose a flight

Compare the aircraft, schedule and price, then open the one you want. The listed price is a starting point, not a confirmed quote.

  3. Send your request

Press Book, add the passenger count and passport citizenships, and send the request. Sending it starts confirmation. It does not reserve the flight.

  4. Review the confirmed offer

EmptyJet checks availability and price with the operator. When it is confirmed, the offer is in My Bookings for you to review and pay. If that flight is unavailable, we can look for alternatives.

EmptyJet value score

How EmptyJet scores empty leg value

Each listed empty leg receives a score from 0 to 10. We compare its price with the estimated charter market rate for a comparable aircraft and trip, alongside other flight and listing factors.

Higher scores indicate stronger estimated value.

Empty leg and private jet questions, answered

What is an empty leg flight?

An empty leg is a private jet sector scheduled to fly without charter passengers, usually because the aircraft must reposition after a one-way trip, reach its next pickup point, or return to base. The operator may offer that sector at a lower price to recover part of the operating cost.

What is a private jet charter?

An on-demand private jet charter is arranged around the trip you request, including your airports, departure date, passenger count and aircraft requirements. A certificated operator confirms the aircraft, availability, terms and final price.

Should I choose a private jet charter or an empty leg?

Choose a private jet charter when your route, timing or aircraft requirements need to determine the trip. An empty leg can be a better fit when your plans are flexible enough to match an aircraft that is already scheduled to reposition.

How much can you save on an empty leg flight?

Empty leg listings can be substantially lower than comparable on-demand charter prices, and current EmptyJet listings are up to 81% below an estimated charter rate. Actual savings vary by aircraft, route, timing, and final operator quote, so the comparison is indicative rather than guaranteed.

Is EmptyJet an airline or a charter operator?

No. EmptyJet is a search engine and marketplace. We aggregate empty leg and charter listings published by operators and brokers, provide price context, and help users submit booking requests. EmptyJet does not operate the aircraft; the flight provider is responsible for confirming the aircraft, crew, availability, and charter terms.

How current is the empty leg inventory?

Empty leg availability can change quickly. EmptyJet updates its listings regularly, but search results may not always reflect an operator's latest schedule in real time. Use the index to discover relevant flights, then request current confirmation of the schedule, aircraft, price, and availability before making travel plans.

Can I buy a first class ticket with a private suite?

Yes. Alongside private jets, EmptyJet lists scheduled first class tickets on airlines that offer enclosed private suites — individual cabins with a door — on select aircraft such as the Emirates A380, Singapore Airlines Suites, Japan Airlines and Starlux A350, and Air India 777. Cabin layouts and amenities vary by airline and aircraft.

How can I pay on EmptyJet?

The flight operator issues the invoice for a private jet empty leg or a private charter. EmptyJet can accept payment for it by card through Stripe, including Google Pay and Apple Pay when your device supports them, by bank transfer, and by cryptocurrency — Bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), plus USDT and USDC on Ethereum and TRON. A bank transfer uses the account details shown for that booking. You may also pay the operator using the instructions on that invoice. First-class suite tickets are paid on EmptyJet by card or cryptocurrency.

Can I pay with cryptocurrency?

Yes. You can pay for a private jet with cryptocurrency on EmptyJet — an empty leg or a private charter — after the operator confirms the offer. First-class suite tickets can also be paid in cryptocurrency. Settlement is available on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and TRON. On Bitcoin you send BTC. On Ethereum you send ETH, or Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) as ERC-20. On TRON (TRC-20) you can send USDT or USDC. Checkout shows the network, asset, and amount before you send.

What does the 0 to 10 value score mean?

The score compares a listed price with an estimated charter rate for a similar aircraft category, distance, and season. A higher score indicates stronger estimated value. It is a comparison tool, not a quote or a guarantee of savings.

Can an empty leg be cancelled or rescheduled?

Yes. An empty leg depends on the aircraft's wider schedule, so it may move or be cancelled if that schedule changes. Refunds, replacement aircraft, and other remedies depend on the provider's contract. Review those terms and consider backup plans before relying on an empty leg for time-critical travel.

Which regions does EmptyJet cover?

EmptyJet indexes flight listings across regions worldwide, including North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, and Oceania. The number of available empty leg and charter listings varies significantly by route and date, so search your preferred departure and destination to see the options currently listed.
