How Market Rate Is Estimated

EmptyJet compares each listing's all-in USD price to an estimated one-way charter market rate for the same route distance band and aircraft category. Market rates are derived from operator-published charter data, historical repositioning patterns, and aircraft operating-cost models — not from a single broker quote.

Worked example (illustrative):

  • Route: London Luton (LTN) → Nice (NCE), ~1,040 km
  • Aircraft: Citation XLS (light jet, 8 seats)
  • Estimated market one-way charter: $28,000
  • Listed empty leg price: $18,500
  • Discount vs market: ~34% → score band 7–8 (good deal)
